$112,500.00 Settlement for a 58 Year Old Female Pedestrian Who Was Struck by a Motor Vehicle in the Parking Lot of a Shopping Center
On May 28, 2008, a 58 year old woman was walking in the parking lot of a shopping center when she was struck by a motor vehicle operated by a 17 year old boy, causing her to fall to the ground where she struck her left side on the pavement and curb, further causing her to sustain severe injuries a including left shoulder greater tuberosity fracture and traumatic chondromalacia of the left knee, among other injuries. As a result of the accident, the plaintiff was caused to undergo arthroscopic surgery in order to repair the chondromalacia of the left knee. Suit was instituted in New Haven Superior Court against the owner and operator of the motor vehicle and the case settled for $112,500.00 following a mediation that was held shortly before trial.
